For some years now, machine tool manufacturers have increasingly been installing a special kind of main spindle: the so-called built-in spindle (e.g. Mazak Multiplex, Super Quickturn; Okuma LB, etc.)

In this type of spindle, the spindle drive motor and the work spindle are combined in one unit. The rotor of the spindle motor is also the main spindle. This design reduces the length of the spindle carrier and the number of components, while running more quietly and smoothly. Unfortunately the bearings of these built-in spindles are designed in such a way that they cannot be replaced on site.

Fortunately for our customers, we set up our own specially adapted and equipped shop for this purpose 10 years ago in which we have been able to complete these repairs within 1 to 2 days at a reasonable cost.
